Weekend in Review

Hello and Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic and fun weekend. I know I did so let's get to it!

Friday
I feel like Friday was a blur but I do know that it was a highly productive day for me. Between meetings, calls, and house stuff, I got a lot done by the end of the day. My early morning client conference call went over well. We were able to get a lot of things lined up for his upcoming workshop. I got some regular work done and lots of housekeeping tackled (its almost monthly report time so it was necessary. And finally, I had a potential client call at the end of the day that went really well. The day before I managed to make two trips the courthouse during lunch so that I could take my oath to be sworn in as a Notary Public (woo-hoo!).

Saturday
What a whirlwind day. I was up early because I had tons of errands to run and I ended up being away from home ALL DAY. The little guy and I took a trip to Lowes with my dad so that I could fix my tree trimmer. Once we returned, I got to work trimming branches off my tree. They were hanging over the house and clogging the gutters it was necessary. Hubby was gone to an all day meeting and I could not take waiting any longer.

Once done the boys and I headed over to my parents house for what was supposed to be an hour but turned into the rest of the day. They had a ball playing out in the wagon. The weather is absolutely beautiful and there was no way I was going to keep them indoors.

Later that day, we went home for about two hours so the little guy could nap and I could get some more work done. Once he woke up, Hubby came home in between meetings for us to run some family errands. The rest of the evening was spent gathering items and grocery shopping with my parents to prep for Easter.

Sunday (Easter)
Ok, Easter was a trip this year. The plan was for a small family dinner, which we do every year, but it morphed into this huge dinner party about 3 hours before dinner. It was bananas. I woke up at 6:00am to put my ham on (I like to cook it low and slow) which was the same time the little guy woke up for a diaper change and milk. I woke back up about 8:30 and headed over to my parents house to help with cooking. My mom and I got to work. I'll spare you the details but here's what was on the menu:
  • Collard greens
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Cornbread
  • Green beans
  • Potato salad
  • Angel Eggs (we don't call them Deviled eggs)
  • Fried, BBQ and Baked chicken (I know)
  • Ham
  • Rice
  • Gravy
  • Apple pie
  • Pound cake
We threw down. The food was so good! We had a house full of folks and had a blast. A handful of my cousins came and it was a lot of fun. I love family celebrations. The next celebration is next month when we head to Columbus for my little brothers college graduation (!).

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year. They got tons of little treats including new bibles courtesy of their Godmother, bubbles, candy, and other stuff. I was exhausted at the end of the day but it was totally worth it.

How was your weekend?
