2018 Goal Setting | Family Edition

By Monique of Walk.Run.Repeat - January 06, 2018

Family, is by far, one of the most important things to me. I come from a big, loud, opinionated family and I wouldn't have it any other way.

As part of our goal setting each year, my husband and I come up with a list of family goals. Everything from more family movie nights to family trips - we create a list that includes goals that impact the overall family.

Here are our family goals for 2018:

Our toddler is growing up and that means lots of big changes all at the same time. Potty training, sleeping in his own room ALL NIGHT, and starting extracurriculars to get some of that energy out. We are also planning for a big Disney trip (his first Disney experience!) in November around his birthday.

My oldest big will be 10 in a few months (Lawd, the double digits) so this year, we are going to start  doing some seriously big boy stuff. He's been wanting to update his room (the shift from little boy to budding pre-teen is commencing) so we will start working on that. I'm talking full overhaul: we're having painters come in and repaint, he's getting all new furniture including a new tv, the works. He's even going to have a big birthday party this year (pray for me and my pockets).

2017 sucked so bad for us in terms of routines (in my opinion) so I want to turn the corner on things and start the new year off strong. Luckily, the boys have been passed out by 9pm most nights so far since Christmas break (thank you baby Jesus), so I want to keep that up.

London was the idea of my oldest. He has been saying he wanted to visit and my husband said, "why not?" so, the family is heading to London in 2020. We decided to push this out by two years because we want to pay all cash and spare no expense. Plus the youngest will be 5, which is when I want to start traveling internationally with him. And finally, Hilton Head is annual trip for us. We've been spending Labor Day there for the last 3 years and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Do you have any family goals for 2018?
